Dark Green:

Cut (10) 2-1/2" x 44" strips. Cut one strip into two equal lengths and add each to two full-length strips for right and left side borders (so each has 2-1/2 lengths). Make top and bottom borders each with two lengths sewn end-to-end.
Bright Green:

Cut (12) 8-1/2" x 44" strips, make four borders each with three strips sewn end-to-end
... Cut (11) 2-1/2" x 44" strips, sew end-to-end and press in half lengthwise for binding
1. Make forty-eight blocks as shown in block diagram. Starting with the 2-1/2" red square add the strips around the center in a counter-clockwise direction. Add the smaller of the two strips then the longer, adding fabrics in the following order: #1, #6, #2, #7, #3, #8, #4, #9, #5 then #10.

2. Lay out all blocks as shown in diagram at top. Stitch blocks into rows then sew rows together.
3. Add dark red then bright red borders, adding the right and left sides first then the top and bottom borders pressing and trimming as you go.
4. Layer backing, batting and quilt top. Baste and quilt as desired. Bind. |
