In 2011 Lucy was honored to be an Artist in Residence at Homestead National Monument, near Beatrice, NE. Her "Ladybug's Flower Garden" quilt was accepted to be shown on CBS Sunday Morning News for its sun image (appearance date not slated) and Barbara Hicks version of "Funky Fish" was shown on the CBC newsmagazine Marketplace.
Lucy has taught and lectured nationally on a variety of quilting techniques since 1993, but has given up life on the road and is currently unavailable for teaching/lecturing.
Working with fabric, batting, thread and template manufacturers, Lucy designs quilts for national and international quilt trade shows and has designed thousands of pattern handouts for the fabric manufacturers. Her quilts have traveled around the United States, Europe, Asia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand representing Westminster Fibers, Andover Fabrics, Red Rooster Fabrics, Exclusively Quilters, RJR Fashion Fabrics, Princess Mirah Design Bali Batiks, Northcott, Kaufman Fine Fabrics, P&B Textiles, David Textiles, Sew/Fit Templates, Benartex, Birch Organic Fabrics, Coats & Clark Threads, M&S Textiles, Sullivan's (Seneca), Timeless Treasures, Moda, Marcus Brothers, Spring Industries, Maywood Studios, Art Gallery Quilts, Henry Glass & Co., Blank Quilting and Kreinik Metallic Threads. Her distinctive style is easily recognized by many in the quilt world.
Lucy often writes the directions and includes illustrations for the quilts she designs for publications. Her ability to break down even complex patterns into simple terms everyone can understand is a skill her fans appreciate.

It's Been A Journey
As an independent artist, Lucy A. Fazely’s diverse works in the quilting field include quilt maker, quilt designer, pattern writer, technical writer, technical editor, graphic illustrator, fabric designer, national quilt instructor, national lecturer and design consultant.
She has been a contributing writer for The Quilter Magazine (formerly Traditional Quilter) since 1999 and has been a regular contributor to Quilter's World (formerly Quick & Easy Quilting and Quilt World) since 1994. She's worked as the pattern writer, technical writer, technical editor, graphic illustrator for All American Crafts and Harris Publications as well as other publishing houses. "Watercolor by Number" is one of two lines of fabric she's designed for Sullivan's (Seneca Fabrics).
Quilt Style, her hard-cover coffee-table book, was published in 2002 by PRC Publishers, London, England. She's had eight booklets of quilting designs published by House of White Birches and All American Crafts. Since 1999 she's self-published a line of patterns and acrylic templates. Her work has also been included in dozens of quilting books including Fun Photo-Quilts & Crafts by Ami Simms (Mallery Press, 1999) and Strip Quilting Projects 9 by Kaye Wood (Kaye Wood Publishing, 1993).
